tea me

Tonight, the little paper ending of my tea-bag string says -

"The more you give, the richer you become."

Good reminders, warmth, hydration, and calm --- still coming to all of us from tea, daily!
All is takes is some hot water, a mug, fingers that can rip open the paper pouch, some dipping...
And, voila!! TEA.

luv

"only love" by ben howard
Darling you're with me, always around me.
Only love, only love.
Darling I feel you, under my body.
Only love, only love.
Give me shelter, or show me heart
Come on love, come on love.
Watch me fall apart, watch me fall apart.

And I'll be yours to keep.
A wind in the shadow, a whale song in the deep.
A wind in the shadow, a whale song in the deep.

A wind in the shadow, a whale song...

Darling you're with me, always around me.
Only love, only love.
Darling I feel you, under my body.
Only love, only love.
Give me shelter, or show me heart
Come on love, come on love.
Watch me fall apart, watch me fall apart.

Watch me fall apart, watch me fall apart,
Watch me fall apart, watch me fall apart,
Watch me fall apart, watch me fall apart,

Only love love love,
Only love love love,
Only love love love,
Girl show me heart.
Come on love love love,
Come on love love love,
Come on love love love.
Watch me fall apart.
Come on love love love,
Come on love love love,
Come on love love love.
Girl show me heart.
Show me love love love,
Show me love love love,
Show me love love love.
Watch me fall apart.

Darling I feel you, under my body
Darling you're with me, forever and always.
Give me shelter or show me heart.
And watch me fall apart, watch me fall apart.

"there are four questions of value in life:
what is sacred?
of what is the spirit made?
what is worth living for,
and what is worth dying for?
the answer to each is the same -
ONLY LOVE" -johnny depp

My thought for today - about loving and especially loving Jacob.

AND AFTER ALL, LOVE FILLS MY HEART THE MOST.  JOY IS WONDERFUL, GOOD SMELLS AND SIGHTS BRING SATISFACTION, LAUGHS BRING A NATURAL SMILE.  NOTHING ELSE, THOUGH, IS REALLY LIKE LOVE.  LOVE FILLS SPACES I DIDN'T KNOW I HAD.  IT KEEPS ME GROWING AND CHANGING.  TAKING MY FOCUS FROM MYSELF AND PLACING IT ON WHAT REALLY MATTERS - THE WORLD AND PEOPLE AROUND ME. SHARING LOVE WITH YOU SOMEHOW ALLOWS MY LUNGS TO INFLATE TO THEIR FULLEST, MY HEART TO BEAT ITS STRONGEST. LOVING YOU OPENS MY EYES TO SEE THE MORE THAN THEY EVER HAVE BEFORE.

babies & hearts

babies breathing -
so tender and light.
so delicate.
yet, so very strong.

you wouldn't believe
what those tiny hearts
are capable of.

their broken, defective,
drowning hearts
are skillfully sewn back
together.
reconnected.
brought back to life.

blood, sweat, tears,
near death.

and think…
babies forget it all
before they're grown.

moving on from
heart break is possible.

moving on from
heart break is living.

what strength and potential are
in a human's soul…
in a human's HEART!
it's immeasurable.

Snippet from ch. 9 of Ministry of Healing by Ellen G. White

"In all our associations it should be remembered that in the experience of others there are chapters sealed from mortal sight. On the pages of memory are sad histories that are sacredly guarded from curious eyes. There stand registered long, hard battles with trying circumstances, perhaps troubles in the home life, that day by day weaken courage, confidence, and faith. Those who are fighting the battle of life at great odds may be strengthened and encouraged by little attentions that cost only a loving effort. To such the strong, helpful grasp of the hand by a true friend is worth more than gold or silver. Words of kindness are as welcome as the smile of angels." pg 158

This passage very closely describes how I feel about being a Christian.  NO, Jesus doesn't require us to do a certain number of acts of service per week, He doesn't expect us to work our way to salvation.  But, I do believe that He expects us to act with love and do the little things.  When we feel a knee-jerk reaction … telling us to hug a friend who looks upset…we should do it!  If a person is angry, we should tell them they look great today and that we have missed spending time with them.  ANYTHING to encourage and show others that someone cares.  I want to live doing acts of service like that.  Because we never know the inner battles of the ones around us.

Become a lake

An aging master grew tired of his apprentice’s complaints. One morning, he sent him to get some salt. When the apprentice returned, the master told him to mix a handful of salt in a glass of water and then drink it.

“How does it taste?” the master asked.

“Bitter,” said the apprentice.

The master chuckled and then asked the young man to take the same handful of salt and put it in the lake. The two walked in silence to the nearby lake and once the apprentice swirled his handful of salt in the water, the old man said, “Now drink from the lake.”

As the water dripped down the young man’s chin, the master asked, “How does it taste?”

“Fresh,” remarked the apprentice.

“Do you taste the salt?” asked the master.

“No,” said the young man. At this the master sat beside this serious young man, and explained softly,

“The pain of life is pure salt; no more, no less. The amount of pain in life remains exactly the same. However, the amount of bitterness we taste depends on the container we put the pain in. So when you are in pain, the only thing you can do is to enlarge your sense of things. Stop being a glass. Become a lake.”

It's so important to me this year, to enrich my outlook on daily life.  I want to sense the largeness and the reality of life.  Stop missing the meaning and inspiration in small interactions, in the trees outside, or a hug from a friend.  My pain is never going to be enough to shut me off to enjoying life.  I want to mix my pain in with joy, laughter, positivity, faith, hope, perseverance, integrity, happiness, and just keep looking up and out.
