Behind your eyes
That hurt & wonder-feeling when I search in the eyes of my niece, seeing so much love and even a glimpse of her mom's soul.

be grateful n stuff
"at times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. each of us has cause to be that spark or to think with deep gratitude about those who have lighted the flame within us."

Is that clear?
I have nothing I want to prove to others except that I am kind. I want to rest in knowing that my light can shine without people questioning its clarity.

ins and outs and ups and downs no matter what
i'm feeling pretty sad today. in the midst of just feeling how i feel, i try to think "why?". i try to convince myself that there are so many others in much more trouble and with much more important reasons to be sad. but my heart still beats in that troubled, sluggish way. where i feel as if i could cry at any moment. looking outside doesn't help, thinking of eating breakfast doesn't help, either. it's so possible for me to rise above this and change and have a different outlook, so why am i still dwelling and feeling sad?
i think it's true, sometimes my heart needs to just dwell. feeling on my own, in the moment...without distraction, allows me to stretch and explore my heart's inner-workings. i want to know the ins and outs of my heart so that i can properly share it with others. so that my words and actions will be so pure and true. someday, i will be in the midst of a family who can cry and laugh together, fluidly - knowing that life has ups and downs and mysteries and heartbreak. knowing that we have each other no matter what.

golden glints
Today someone told me "it's so wonderful just to be". They went on about how they don't know how or why we all come to be, or why we die. But, it's just wonderful and lucky and an absolute privilege to exist on this earth.
I agree with that.
Love exists in so many millions of forms:
Eating vegetables around a table from wooden bowls
Giddy puppies jumping for joy
Dancing babies
Fresh strawberries that don't need any sugar on top
A hug from someone who means a lot to you
Gathering around a warm fire.
Flowers blooming with their face toward the sun.
Hot tea in a favorite mug.
Reading a letter from far away.
The smile of a child who is sick.
The smell of white jasmine.
I love being and existing and experiencing the love and light of the world.
Sometimes I may forget to notice the good. Focusing on the bad and being afraid of what could happen - Wishing too hard and not noticing the glints of pure gold in every single day that I live.
Sometimes it takes darkness to see the light.
I feel like the point of existing to is to find out all of the light and golden moments that can be created/lived/observed/absorbed in each one of our different lives. Using our able bodies to search and find and do things to bring more gold in to the world - love, grace, kindness, beauty...all of these can be found. Even in the midst of death, suffering and sadness there can be found little glints of gold and meaning. I hope I find all of them.

Ow
Strange that a woman's menstrual cycle involves such pain. What's the purpose of the pain? a few weeks ago I was brought literally to my knees and then the floor in a cold sweat, the worst pain I can remember...all from my cramping uterus. Laid out on my bathroom floor in my towel because the pain just stopped me there. Was scared for a bit that the Tylenol wouldn't kick in. 30 minutes of that pain. That was it. And, to me, it was so much. 30 minutes of waves of pain was hard and what do others endure??
Pain. It's one of the vital signs, but is it really vital? Maybe so. Maybe I shouldn't have taken that Tylenol. Maybe experiencing pain and letting it sink in and get real is when true growth occurs. Pain and hurt and feeling lost. Maybe our hearts have to be stretched and chipped-away-at until they're better...stronger or something.
Hopefully there's utter joy and peace in the end. Pure comfort somewhere.

"Cosmic delusion is always snaring us through our ignorance"
Every human being has a supernatural power. But, having one doesn't mean you know how to use it.
